Scott Dix Jeremy Perney

Profile of Scott Dix:

Scott graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1985. During college, he swam for Minnesota's swim team and was a Williams Scholar. He then started working for Balzers as a sales engineer in their Chicago office. After one year, he joined the Balzers' marketing group as a product specialist for the cryopump and vacuum component product lines.

In 1987, Scott joined Granville-Philips as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager covering Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa. In his ten years at Granville-Phillips, Scott made a significant impact on the Midwest marketplace.

As an active member of the Prairie Chapter of the A.V.S., he has served on the executive committee for the last eighteen years. He organizes short course classes, dinner meetings, and vendor exhibits for the chapter. He has also run the National A.V.S. 5K Run for the past twenty years.

On April 1, 1998 Scott started Vacuum One, a vacuum representative firm based in Chicago. Serving Midwest vacuum customers,
he represents CTI-Cryogenics, Granville-Phillips, Polycold Systems, Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum, Inficon, MDC Vacuum Products, Insulator Seal Incorporated (ISI), Advanced Vacuum Company, Gamma Vacuum, SAES Getters, Advanced Research Systems Inc., KLA-Tencor, Toho Technology, and Intlvac.

In In his spare time, Scott is a sports enthusiast. He has completed the Hawaii Ironman, the Boston Marathon, and now enjoys an occasional round of golf.

Scott is married to Jill Dix. They live in Chicago with their children Harper, Riley, Davis, and JD.

Profile of Jeremy Perney:

Jeremy graduated from Carleton College in 1993. During college, he majored in English literature, served on several academic committees, and was a teaching assistant. He then worked at the University of Michigan as a technical writer and a business manager's assistant for a research group that identified cost-effective strategies for treating kidney failure.

In 1995, Jeremy moved from Michigan and attended the University of Chicago, where he attained an M.A. in English and Education. After graduation, Jeremy taught for two years in a suburban high school outside of Chicago.

In 1998, Jeremy joined Vacuum One. Jeremy assists with customer support and coordinates communications with Vacuum One customers.

In his spare time, Jeremy is an enthusiastic buyer of antiques, traveler, and moviegoer. Jeremy is married to Rian Davis. They live in Evanston with their daughter Stella and their son Noah.
